Back in 2010, I was busy being a Dad to my two-year-old daughter: writing in whatever spare time I had, but generally being the “primary carer”.
There was a local film competition which I was hesitant to enter because I didn’t really have the time or energy… until I realised I should work with what was accessible to me.
I decided to shoot it like a black and white French New Wave film (because why not), and just to have fun with it.
Dear Reader, I won the competition.
It’s a cute little film which still makes me smile (not just because my daughter is extremely cute in it!), so if you’re in need of a quick pick-me-up, check out Baby’s Day Out!
The film caught the attention of the local arts council who wanted a promo video for their babies and toddlers event ‘The 3ft Festival’ - “same but different” was the specification, so this time I shot it like that episode of The Simpsons when Bart and Milhouse had too much squishy and launched into a parody of Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly in On The Town!
Enjoy!
Very cute!
